I have a 380gal tank w/ 74gal sump (119 if filled)

I need to get a good protein skimmer and was looking at the Reef Octopus Extreme 12 Inch (400 Gallon) In Sump Protein Skimmer. It seems that the Octopus has the best bang for the buck but I wanted other's input.

Also, I'm limited on space so I need something that would fit in my sump which has a clearance of about 28"

Thanks.

I use a My Reef Creations MR-1 and it works great, you would probably need an MR-2R considering the volume, it's a recirculating style. You can look up the specs online at myreefcreations.com

That MR3 looks really nice and priced well too. Too tall for my sump though.

Thanks!

Check out I-Tech skimmers. I'm actually waiting for a model 100 myself. They're a small company, but the feedback so far about all of their models has been great. If you check out their website, you can get current specs for all their models.

There's a whole thread here on RC about them if you do a search. You can get a ton of feedback about their skimmers in the thread.
