I want anyone to know that I have been using this selinoid valve for multiple reef applications and I can't say enough about how good it has been.

sorry... I know this is odd posting as I don't have a question. But I found this link here at RC by luck and wanted to pass it along for anyone who might use it.

what have you set this up to run?

I have used it to fill my water ro vat in the past, and to add water as a stage to a multiple stage kalk vat.
Currently I use it to dose kalk via gravity feed from my RO vat to the selinoid to the Nielson Reactor and into the tank. I control it with a digital aquatics reef keeper set at a specific PH. Works pretty well, but I think I need a bigger reactor.

I use solenoids from them too...
definitely recommended.

I've been looking for some valves, thought about the sprinkler ones but didn't think they would last. Only thing, it mentions part of these are brass, is it a part in contact with the water because that will leach copper. Any idea what they cost?

You can get all plastic ones on ebay, gravity feed ones are the best as they don't need a high pressure differential to operate.

Though as a word of caution I've had small bits of grit from my mixing tank end up keeping my solenoids from sealing. After the resulting disasters, both ATO water and NSW, I now run pleated 200 micron filters before my valves. I've had success with both direct acting and diaphragm type valves, great when paired with cheap diaphragm pumps for RVs

Can you please give me links to the filters and plastic valves. Thanks

Search for the vendor on e bay dot com, as I'm in canada

For the filter, I used what I had on hand which is a whole house style filter housing, major overkill. A small sponge filter with a slit cut in it for your inlet house should be more the adequate
