I never had mh lights before, and don't know much about them. They came with the tank I got, and the bulbs have cracked. There is no writing on the bulb or ballast. How do I know the watts of the bulbs? Is this a DIY ballast?

Thanks!

The ballast should have something stating the wattage...150, 175, 250 or 400

Just says "Transformer Enclosure Model 18TB-TPO". Can't find any other writing.

That model number is just the number of the enclosure. Can you get a volt meter and measure both out voltage and amperage when plugged in.

Actually you should be able to measure the wattage and the mogul socket. Try putting one lead on the center in the hole then the other leas on the outside wall of the hole. Your meter will replace the bulb as a resistor and should give you a wattage.

At the transformer the voltage started at 220V then declined, and fluctuated around 160V. I don't know how to equate that to watts.
