I just noticed on my red goniopora that it's LOADED with red flatworms.
I've never seen these before in my tank. I have some of the teeny brown ones that hang out on the glass, but they never bother anyone.
The goniopora is the ONLY coral I see these on. None of the other coral, including other LPS, have any such thing on them that I can see.
These flatworms are about 2-5mm around, and brick red.
The goni has normal polyp extension but there are a few polyps with some exposed skeleton, which I had attributed to a lighting upgrade I just did, even though I've carefully acclimated the tank.
Perhaps I was wrong--- are these flatworms eating the goni?
Now, until I can get some flatworm exit, is there anything else I can do? I do not have any wrasses that will eat them.
I noticed yesterday that a peppermint shrimp was picking at the goniopora, so I moved the goni from one tank to another (same water system). Do you think the peppermint was actually picking at the flatworms?
Should I put the goni back in the tank with that has the peppermints?
