:hmm1: Can anyone explain?
Is it just turning on the whites and actinic at different time?
Let me know!

Can you explain what you mean by light burst? Did it break??? Does it just randomly get brighter????

No sorry, my lights are fine I meant a "timed lighting". I read a forum about "light burst" and they were talking about turning on the whites from 12-6, actinic 2-9, and moons over night. I was just wondering how many people do this and if this is the actual technique. I just turn them both on and off at the same time.

People try to replicate a sunrise to sunset light schedule.
"light burst" doesn't really describe turning your actinics off an hour after your daylights... I wonder who coined that phrase.

What you are refering to is dusk and dawn. Many people have their timers set so their actinic lighting can come on for an hour or 2 before all the lights kick on, then the whites turn off and you have another 1-2 hours of actinic to simulate dusk.

Algea outbreaks are usually caused by excess nutrients.
You will be fine if you want to simuate a dusk to dawn light period. The majority of us do it.
