I don't know anything about bumblebee shrimp, but Harlequin Shrimp most certainly will control starfish in a tank... that's all they eat, and you will want to find it a new home when your supply of stars is exhausted...

+2 on the Harlequin Shrimp, But be prepared that they have a very special diet They will only eat starfish. So you must be prepared to feed them. I feed mine a CC starfish a month. Some time two depending on size. I would also recommend that you buy them in a pair I did not and have been having a hard time finding only a female to go with the male I have.
This is a good link about them

My bumbelbees have never molested astarinas or mini brittle stars and I have never read anything about them eating starfish. They do like to hang out with urchins, but I do not know if they feed on the tube feet, or just use them for shelter.

I have kept a bb shrimp for over a year now. I have never seen him/her eating astarinas.
I also have had a tuexedo urchin for over two years. When I first read up on them to aquire it , I noticed that they can and will pick at echinoderms. Everything I read about them mentioned they steer clear if well fed. Well after a year of experience I have come to the conclusion this is not true. My bb shrimp is not far from my urchin most of the time. Although they have lived together for a year now both are still alive and healthy.

Sorry for my ignorance but why does everyone want to get rid of the stars. I have a 110 that has been up for two years and I noticed stars popping up about six months ago. I only have softies, fish, and cleanup crew. Started with a few stars and now I can count 30 or more so there are probably another 30 or more I can't see. Is this an issue? They appear to be typical "as seen on tv" stars. They look kind of like sand sifters but are all very small ranging in size from half a dime size to Pennie size. Do I need to get rid of them?

In the Caribbean the only way I've ever found bumblebee shrimp is by flipping over urchins. Often in pairs, they seem to be under rather than on the urchins, mostly Diadema antillarum.
