First protein skimmer

Ok everyone this is my first skimmer in my 8 month experience. My lfs on has like 2 brands of skimmers and they had an used seaclone 100 for $50 bucks today. I know they are not the most popular but I couldn't loose to start my first skimming. Ok I got it hooked up but I have a lot of bubbles entering the water surface into the open space from the water dropping down from the return. How do I get the water to freefall from the return without the bubbles??

As long as the water is falling down into the tank your going to have issues with microbubbles. Best way to avoid it is to have the water drain under the surface.
