I am in the market for an underwater camera and have been leaning toward the Sealife DC 1000 until I heard a couple people speak poorly of it. Some said that they shove a crappy Vivitar into a clumsy housing and sell it to unsuspecting consumers. Others said its great but the single flash is way too bright to take good pics, you have to turn it down to get any decent color. That kinda scares me, I was planning on buying the twin light setup. Then I heard that you can't hold it very well with the two lights because they get in the way.

Can anyone atest to any of these statements with their experiences, or stories of people that they dive with?

Does anyone have better suggestions and why?

Really apprieciate it.
Ben

you're better off buying a regular point a shoot camera and buying a good underwater housing.
get a small nikon or canon or olympus point, click, shoot camera and get a underwaterhousing from ikalite or similar manufacturer.
