I just witnessed two astrea snails spawning in the tank, had never seen it before. Couldn't get the camera in time to film it. The two were stuck together and the one was on top putting out what looked like smoke(obviously not) in the water and sporadically the larger one on the bottom would shoot a "stream" of what appeared to be eggs. Looked like micro bubbles almost. Anybody see anything like this??????

I see plenty of eggs on my glass all the time. Not sure I have ever seen copulation though. In any case, reproduction in the tank is a good thing. Means they are comfortable with their conditions.

I've seen a whole reef full of them spawning and they don't have to be close to one another either. When they start, something triggers them all into spawning. This event was in a 120 and you could tell that some were putting out eggs and the others were putting out sperm. The sperm was the smoke-like thingys.

Sounds pretty interesting. Maybe one day mine will spawn.

Cool, I hope you wanted some more snails ;)

Actually, they will most likely all be eaten by critters in the tank.
