Anyone use it b4??? If yes did you rinse it first??

I am thinking about doing sand versus gravel for my turtles. Also I kept getting a thin layer of red slime on the sand surface that wouldn't go away so I vacuumed them all up and now my sand it pretty but I did lose some.

Your tank must be awsome if you have sea turtles. Can we get some pictures? I bet their tank is bigger than my house.:bounce3:

I have been told that childrens playsand is free of silicates and such, and read threads somewhere long ago that it was reef safe. Ive never tried it.

if you can find pool filter sand its the same thing but pre washed so you dont have to clean it as much before you put it in the tank and it will cloud less. look at your local pool supply store usually around $10 bugs per 50lb bag
