I am about to break down my display tank. I am moving and will be redesigning the tank plumbing. I need to keep my corals going for around 2-3 weeks while the work takes place. I was hoping to put the corals -softies, and some lps into a small tank and light them with the 5600 cfls from my fuge. I dont care about the colors 'popping', I simply want to keep the corals alive for a few weeks during the transition. Also, I will be keeping 2 rbta in the same tank.

I have some t5s but since my temp tank will be a rubbermaid bin, i dont think they will work well. My 6 X 36" fixtures would be mostly hanging past the top of the bin.

Any thoughts?

I would think having extra over the sides would be better than basically an algae grow bulb. Just set your t5 on the bin with some 2x4 support and that way you know they won't starve for light or get an algae bloom due to a low spectrum bulb.
