Dry Rock

I have about 60 lbs dry rock, some sand from my current tank and a couple pieces of live rock in a trashcan with heater and powerhead. Ammonia went up slightly and is now 0. When I put rock in my new tank, with new sand, do I have to have tank cycle with new sand. I'm going to be adding current tank live rock to tank also (about 50 lbs)

Probably not, but I would definately test every day or so for a week or two to be certain. Sometimes a small cycle can occur as a result of just moving the live rock.

You might see an ammonia spike when you move the old sand. Use 100% new sand and you should be fine.
