Go with evil's built here in the u.s. not hong kong. + everything ive read about the maxspect says go with the higher model not the 60w.

I like the Par38 but how do you know it is built in the USA?

Cause PAR38 is just a regular LED lamp but "Evil" swaps the factory LEDs for CREEs so its basically "made in the US and have authentic CREE LEDs. Don't really know where they originally buy the light though

I have read quite a lot about these bulbs but have not read that Evil modifies them. Actually you can purchase Chinese bulbs with Cree LEDs at Bestlamps Electronics Co. Ltd. I heard they were much less than the ones that Evil is promoting but maybe for good reason. I would love to hear his opinion of them.

this mite be a stupid question, but what would these lights take the place of? im running a 250w mh over my solana would this be a better light to run? meaning will i get the same light from this bulb, or is it for a smaller reef type setting like a 70-150w mh bulb?
thanks

i have a stupid question also. Is the PAR38 a 'bulb like fixture' that just screws into a standard lamp?

Yes it does, and they are not made in the USA but custom made for NanoTuners.

How much of a spotlight would the 60 degree optics put off? i have a mr. aqua, with a 12" cube display and was really looking into these.
