Hi, MD.

You have two 400w Ushio 14k MH lamps listed in your catalog.
#MB 8617
#MB 8618

There's a price difference. What's the difference in these lamps other than price?

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the post, I'm working on getting you an answer I'm not exactly sure if this is an error on our website. I did notice that the overview descriptions are slightly different between both bulbs. As soon as I get my answer I will post it here. Sorry for the delay.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your patience, Ushio offers 2 different versions of their 400 watt mogul lamps. They have a standard and CWA, The CWA has an ignitor probe in the halide envelope that assists with the initial firing of the lamp. The standard lamp does not have this probe and requires a ballast with a 4kV ignitor.

MB8618 400 WATT 14000K METAL HALIDE BULB - GERMAN USHIO, MOGUL BASE is CWA
