So i got this yellow watchmen goby a few weeks back and it turned all white

and had 3 black strips on his back after like 2 days in the tank. after i got a

pistal shrimp for him he changed back to yellow.

maybe he turned white to comofalgue bez he really didnt have to many

hiding places before the pistal shrimp came in.

also ever heard of a trigger fish flashing white evry second. (this was a while

back ago rip Mr.Shredder) he used to always flash white when he new

feeding time was about to begin.

is this wierd or common??

I think it's fairly common. It's just an idicator of how a fish is feeling at a particular time. It can be a sign of aggression, sickness, excitement, shyness, etc. Just keep a close eye.

not uncommon at all. Most fish change colors when stressed, but as in the case of your trigger (which are pigs :) ) when he knew food was coming he got excited, which would also change colors.

More often than not though, its a stress thing. If there's a lot of really active frantic fish in the tank with the goby, that could stress him out (they're rather peaceful themselves) and if there's not a lot of places to hide that could do it too.

my green spotted puffer changes from white to grey in no time when getting feed or talked to. not uncommon at all, and with enough observation you will be able to tell what the color changes mean.
