Looking for a UPS to run heaters and pumps on two tanks for under $250 . I'd like be able to run as long as possible with this equipment.
200w heater
100w heater
Eheim 1250 return pump

A word of warning on the UPS. They lie through their teeth on the estimated run times. If everything you have listed is drawing power at the same time it will drain the UPS quicker then you might think. Go as big as you can on the ups. If you experience long power outages you may also want to consider a small gas generator. The ups will carry the load until you can get the genny set up and running.

I agree that a UPS won't run long on a typical tank workload. The runtimes they give are for computers, which are a different workload than a tank. I used a UPS to handle very short (1 hour, maybe) power outages, and only ran one powerhead per tank.

The APC units are very good, IME.

Thanks for the replies.

I wanted a failsafe to give me time to get home. I have a generator. I think I'm going to pick up a APC1500 and only run a return pump on 40 and a small pump on my 29.
