View Full Version : Hydor Koralia 4 Pumps
Question, there directions indicate .6" thickness for magnets. Has any body used them on .75" If so, is there a magnet upgrade? I realize they make larger units good for thicker applications but I want to use numerous 4's. Are these controllable by an old style wavetimer?
Thanks!
There are controllable models but I think they are designed for the hydor controller. For the most part the other models are not designed to operate on a wavemaker, the are loud on start up and I dont think the motors hold up well to it.

You can but SHOULDNT use K4s on any wavemaker or timer (with the exception of a time that shuts them off once or twice a day at most) I have a tank that has .75" thick glass and the k4s hold with no issues at all. The magnets double as suction cups too.
Thanks Shane, that was very helpful!

I put a piece of tubing in front of the propeller inside mine, now they don't make so much noise when they start up.
