Controllers and probes

Can somebody give me a run down on how controllers and probes work? Do u just put all the probes in the water and connect them to the controller? how long does a probe last? ive looked around and cant find much other than the products.

It is not really that simple, but basically yes, you put the probes in the water, hook them up to the controller, and program functions based on the readings from those probes. Functions can also be set up based on time as well. Different probes have different lifespans. I would examine what you are looking for a controller to do and then figure out which set up works best for your particular system.
