What when and how can you use live rock to transplant fron a tank that has ICK into a new tank before the tank has been stocked, I plan on using my live rock in a 75 that has had ick issues in the newly set up 125, no fish have been added to the tank and the tank has not cycled yet any ideas

You should get lots of different opinions on this, but the longest I have read that Ich can survive without a fish as host is 70 days. I had Ich in my display and went 72 days without fish and the disease was gone. I now have a 40g QT so that doesn't happen again.

Good luck,

Ich will eventually die off if a tank is fishless.

Eight weeks is recommended, but in this case you are asking for certainty.

If your tank is expected to be fishless for 12 weeks, I won't avoid it.
