Brightwell Carbonit-P & Passive Filter Bag?

I am thinking about using Brightwells activated carbon media in my reef aquarium. I would just be running it passively in the sump. My question is that in the directions they state you should use a 800aem mesh filter bag. Is that just 800 microns or is that something different? Could I just use any kind of filter bag/pantyhose?
