I have a 4 polyp frag of PH that will not open up. I even moved it to a different tank but it still wont open up. Is there any trick to make it open up again?

Thanks,

My purple hornets close up from time to time. Just don't touch them and they should re-open in a couple days.

Are the rest of your polyps opening up normally? Parameters test ok? Inspected for pests?

How long have you had those purple hornets?

I don't know howe long you have had this frag but if it's a new frag for you then I would think moving them to a different tank is only adding to ****ing them off more if they are closed up while adjusting to your new tank. If the rest of your tank is happy just put them as close to the bottom of your tank as you can and give them time to adjust to the new conditions in your tank.

I have lost a few and never really figured out why. The hornets seem to be ultra sensitive. Keep a very close eye out for any brown film showing around the closed polyp. Best of luck.

Like others mentioned, I would keep them in one place and let the polyps get use to your tank conditions. If you keep moving them around, all you are doing is adding more stress to an already stressed coral.

Best of luck.
