What is the best salt mix? Distilled or drinking water to mix it with?

If by 'drinking water' you mean Reverse Osmosis... then yes.

There is no best salt mix. Most of them work fine, as long as you know the various pros and cons of each. For any mix available, you'll find folks who think it best for some reason or other. :)
