what light fixture do you recommend for a 10g and wheres the cheapest place to buy it? Im looking to spend as little as possible on it since im a college student on a budget. i want it to be enough for corals like anemones, duncans, leathers, etc.

One PAR38 LED bulb with 80 degree optics. It will cost a little more to begin with but will be cheaper in the long run.

one 150 MH would do the job...

no the aquatrader light wont do...ur tank is 20 and the light is 24...

That being said, trying to keep it on a low budget, i would not recommend a 150w halide bulb either due to temperature problems.

The best way for you to move forward would be T5... low heat, great par levels and lately, very affordable.

The LED suggestion, if affordable (I'm not sure how expensive they are) would work the best, especially in your situation.

If you decide to go T5, look into the Nova extreme 2x18w light... it should be enough for all the corals xcept the anemone...If you really want the anemone, it would be best to buy 2 of the nova fixtures and it would still be cheaper then most fixtures... Anemones need an established tank, just make sure you can provide such a tank before buying an anemone...

The anemone will be fine with the one fixture. I have kept them with great success under VHO and PC's with no problems.

One MH 150 watt will fry your fish in a 10 gallon.

If you go halide for a 10 gallon, you may want to go with a 70 watt JBJ viper. Hello Lights sells them.

I'll have disagree. I ran a 250 phoenix over a 10 gallon for over a year before breaking down the tank. It was about 12" off the surface of the water and I used a fan to blow the heat away. Worked great.
