I am trying to update my firmware on my RKL via Windows XP.

I connect the powerstrip PC4 to a power outlet, then the main display to that then the cord from the adapter to the PC4. From the adapter to the USB on my PC.

I downloaded the flasher program from DA, but when I run it it says that it can't find the firmware.

Am I connecting it wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Brandon

Don't power your PC4 when updating.

Make sure you down load the directions and follow them step by step. There shouldn't be any issues with it not finding firmware that we've hear.

No. You do not want the module that you are updating connected to another module. It should go PC4 --->SID ----> Laptop. Update each module individually with them not connected to any other modules, one by one.

So the main display <lcd> does not need to be connected at all? Just the one with the outlets?

Correct.... Don't connect the main display.
You ONLY connect the particular module you are going to upgrade to the laptop

You have to update one thing at a time.

So if you want to update the pc4 then just hook it up to the computer like dave said. Then goto the head unit and hook it up the same way.
I believe the manual shows how to hook up each unit to the sid if your not sure how to.

You dont have to have the head unit hooked up at all times to update if thats what you was asking

The instructions indicated that you need to do each item individually. That is a critical step!

As far as videos, we'll be completing an entire series on the RKL in before the upcoming MAX show in April. Once we get that rolling we'll have some more cool youtube things we'll be working on! :)

Can you make some videos on the net mod and how to setup your email and checking and controlling from different computer location for all us dumb computer people.

Our videos will focus on our hardware and that will cover the NET module to the extent of setting it up. When it comes to third party hardware and ISPs we're not able to cover the vast options and configurations.

That said, our dedicated support forum does have a large number of customers that are well versed on a variety of hardware and ISP settings and they are very helpful. So if you're looking for help on third party stuff, or your ISP settings I would post there first.
