View Full Version : Lights for a 30 nano?

i now have a saltwater tank set up in the 30 gallon but intrested to start putting some coral in to it.. my light set us is close to nothing id be able to use so i went ahead and just grab some wood lights bulb sockets and drilled and wired away... the Fixture now can house up to 8 CFL bulbs with out heating up i tested the heat and water temp with 8 23watt 65k bulbs its very well ventilated.

if so how many would i need?
Im looking or at-least hopping to keep Soft and at-least one claim AND would LOVE to keep some stonys
but im sure id need very expensive lights for that..

I would thik six would be good. I have had much luck with LPS's in my 14g biocube with 48w pc. So I think 120w would do you well. For LPS's I would recommend : candycanes, open brains , pagoda cups , bubble , hammer and frogspawn.

I don't think you could keep any stony in your tank with cf....
