i added a blue mushroom to my tank yesterday, it was a little "bloody" when i put it in and today there is a bunch of brown goo coming off of it and its mostly brown. is it dead or will it probably bounce back?

you wanna get the slime off it, either a iodine dip, or some randomized current until the flesh looks good for better healing

What are your water parameters?

Remove the the dying mushrooms before they foul your tank.

ohchiz84 - It sounds too late to save the shrooms but maybe the zoas have a chance.
(1) suck out the dead shroom slime with a baster or a small siphon.
(2) suggest you measure and post a full set of your tank's current water parameters before anyone here can start to provide some useful assistance for you.
(3) describe your tank setup: overall age of setup, type and quantity of critters, tank size, sump size (if used), filtration & chemical maintenance systems (skimmers, reactors, etc), lighting, etc. Also it would help if you describe your maintenance routine (daily/weekly/monthly).

Maybe you have ammonia?

3 gal (about 2gal water volume) jbj pico using the 9w 50/50 cf stock light and 40gph filter for now, about 2 months old, change 1 liter weekly, ive had 1 blue leg hermit and 2 large cerith snails for 2-3 weeks which seem fine, salinity is usually 1.23-26 pending on evaporation and how recently ive topped off, had lfs test my water for free shortly after cycle about a month ago and the nitrates were >30, havent tested anything else regularly. the mushroom was detached during shipping and looked a little beat up, zoas still havent opened though and its been 36 hours so im getting a little concerned about them now

Where are you and where did they ship from? How long were they in transit?

200 miles in the midwest, it was overnight shipping on a group order i got them about 6pm

You should get the water tested again find out the ph, alk, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, salinity. I test my water in my 95 gal once every 5 days, I would say you need to check at least once a week if not every few days you have a very small amount of water and if something goes bad it goes bad fast

If everything in the tank is doing fine, my guess would be that the stuff got cold at some point in time in transit. Who did you order it from, how was it packed and do they have any sort of guarantee?

they were probably just very unhappy. I'm sure they will come back with no problem. I've ripped mushrooms off a rock... both the ripped off part recovered fine, and the remnants on the rock regenerated into new polyps.

Get a turkey baster and suck the slime out. I think its dead by the way you describe it. I would siphon the whole thing out.
