I have an old tank that I want to use as a sump. I'm not the original owner. Is there anyway to tell if copper was used in the tank?
I've read that copper can get in the silicone and harm corals later. Is this true?

Usually, if copper was used in an old tank with clear silicone, the silicone will turn blue. Hope this helps!

just rinse it well and it will be fine. if you have any doubts, run some polyfilter for a few weeks.

yeah run polyfilters, if they turn blue the tank is realsing copper
