Just want to ask opinions which one will be better coexisting with a flame angel? it will be house into a 270 gallons tank. Which is better from the two angels? Any tips in caring for this two angels? Thanks.

Never had a multibarred long enough to comment on it. I added a male Venustus in 11/09 to the DT with male Coral Beauty (10/09) and 3 Flame angels (10/07). The Venustus will not engage with the CB which is the trouble maker and the Flame angels ignore him.

I would highly recommend QT the Venustus and allow it to learn to eat prepared food before adding to the DT. I don't see any problem with either choice (especially in a 270) as long as it's eating first and you've plenty of hiding places.

I had a multibarred for a couple years and got it eating in QT first. They are very shy and once acclimated to foods and the dt they cruise around in the liverock much like a fireball angel. Mine loved picking at the liverock for pods, and critters. He would only eat frozen, This fish was the only one i could not get to eat pellets.

wow im contemplating now which one should i get... a multibarred or venustus... both of them are a beauty! Thanks for sharing your experience creetin! Now its getting harder and harder as i read and research more of this two beautiful creatures...

if i may ask which pygmy angel should i put into my tank? flame first, or venustus first or multibarred first... i have also a regal in list... and a copperband... and some tangs on the way... i will definitely put the tangs all at once last... thanks again guys...

I would add both a Venustus and the multibar. I've got a beautiful trio of multibars in my 300 right now and I am on the hunt for a nice Venustus to add with them!!!

My Venustus is in with a Potters in a 150 gallon. They get along quite well. Potters was in first and is the more dominant, but they co-exist and swim together often.

Would love to get a Multi-Bar or Golden Angel. Just don't want to push my luck...
