as you notice the middle chamber is bigger, kind of block by my metal halide lighting. also the 4th pic shows the stock window for a fuge. so can i just put a light back there, and it can penetrate through the glass, or do i still need a light down in the water for the fuge. im thinking oceanic made this window so you can attach a light to the back. you will also notice that the filter lays horiz comapred to the previous vertical one in the first chamber. first chamber has a skimmer and heater right now

Yup, you have the brand new HQI version. Very nice. Yes, you can use a light from the outside.

thank you so much. i have been asking that question and decided just to post pics. the lights are awesome i started them up and they are bright. i had a 75 saltwater before with pc lights, and what a difference. i get my stand this week. how many watts for the light on the outside. also would you suggest putting cheato at the bottom, and do you think i can get away with a cheap led strip just for looks, and nighttime, since i have no hood

That is pretty sweet. I have heard of people modifying their cubes that way , looks like oceanic followed up on it!
You mind me asking what you paid ? I was thinking of upgrading my cube.

I would put the cheato towards the top so you could access it easy.
Thanks for the comps.

@kingfisher, yea it seems as they listened to people and made that window. ;)
@theyammieguy so get a media basket or just use that top tray and put cheato on it. the filter is sitting on a tray. then there is a tray towards the bottom about 6 inches from the bottom, right at the window for the cheato. if i put a light at the window will it be enuff for the cheato at the top? what media should i put in? cheato, and carbon? cheato, carbon, floss, and chem pur?

also i like the glass piece that comes on the top. there is a space on the left and the right front that are not covered. can drop food there, if i have to directly feed somthing i will have to pull that glas piece up though. also that will help with evaporation

I would put the cheato where the light hits it the best.

i dont want to mess with the hqi fixture, is there a way i could possibly have led lights for night time. im thinking about a strip on top of the glass

very nice tank man! my tank does have the window in the back and there is a way to make a light for the back out of a conjunction box and a CFL for a fuge light

The chamber sizes are exactly the same between the new model and the older. The newer model with built in fish saver and fuge window began shipping last spring.
