I am in the process of consolidating my 155 gallon mixed-reef system for multiple reasons....I do not want to give up the hobby completely but am going to "down-grade".

Does anyone own the Red Sea Max 130D, and if so, do they recommend it for basic reefing such as for LPS, zoas, clams, and very small fish??? I would assume that it is not sufficient for SPS, right?

I do, have for 2.5 years. I kept SPS and clams under the stock lighting but high up.

Normal list of mods:

Different heater
Tunze 9002 skimmer
media basket
Koralia #2 or MP 10
Auto top off

This should get you started (http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=131416)

I have two of them, but with the amount of modifications I have had to make to them for them to be suitable for my goals, I would have just started with a simple glass box and piece together a custom system if I had to do it over again. Good luck.
