I have one of those starting to grow out of one of my rocks too.... Im waiting for the answer too.

I have a couple, so they are harmless? you could always tweeze em' they have showed up with some sargassium that I have to pull out everyso often so it dose'nt shade some of my zoas. I have read they come with good water quality?

that thing looks awesome! the color is amazing. is it harmful to corals?
