Catching your own Mantis Shrimp?

This is my third thread so far and I am really curious about catching mantis shrimp.

Like for example if I went on a holiday and went diving and then found a mantis shrimp could I catch it and bring it home back to England?

Are there any laws or anything or do I have to get someone's permission?

i would check the local laws for where you plan on going on vacation because in alot of places it is illegal to collect animals from the ocean without permits. also check the customs laws for england because you will probably need permits to import a living creature. in other words just buy one it is much cheaper, alot less hassle, and no chance of jailtime

I was kind of both thinking like how can people who sell them get them first and also like if I were to go to a holiday if I would be able to catch one.

the people who catch them and import them dont soley sell mantis shrimp they are usually big time importers who import all kinds of fish and inverts so they arent spending a ton of money on permits to import just one thing
