Looking to buy a nano tank. I'm moving and will reduce my current tank at home to a 30 gallon tank which I plan on moving to the office. My office has annoying temperature control. So I'm thinking that I will need a chiller. I'm looking for advice on brand and setup advice. I see a lot of people have Solana and Oceanic. Cost is not a huge issue for me. I'm looking for ease of maintenance, installation and all in one features ( lighting, filtration and skimming). I would appreciate anyone's advice on what brand they would choose and the pros and cons. Thanks in advance.

I'm 16, so I can't do anything like this, but if money was not an object, I'd go with a rimless solana with a pendant light. They look cool and the lack of hood will cool the tank, as long as you can do top-offs. Everyone seems to love their solanas, and they definitely have the cool/sleek factor going for them.
Just my "ooh, wish I could do that" 2cents........ :P

I recently got a 25 gal solana and I'm loving it so far. I have wanted something rimless for a long time but didn't wanna spend the $ it takes to get a custom tank built. Def get a ato if you go that route.

Money is not a problem?? somethign that i would never be able to say haha. I'd suggest getting a ncie tank. You can setup your own tank for ease and reliability. Get an ADA tank, my personal favorite high quality rimless tank, drill it with an overflow connected to a sump. get a tunze skimmer for quality, then a tunze osmolator for ATO, you can also get a controller to control lights and possibly monitor your pH, etc. Last but not the least, lighting. I'm a fan of T5 lighting due to the intensity and range of colors available, plus, less heat!

IMO making your own setup like this give you most of the fun in the beginning instead of buying and simply running a tank

If money is not an issue I would go with the elos mini or the 70. These are the nicest tanks in the world. If you check out the Elos forum here you will find that it is not a matter of opinion. It is a fact.

Rimless can be a pain... I have a couple of friends that have it and they hate it... the biggest reason is that certain fish like to jump.... so you are limited to certain fish...

that plus heat issues with other tanks= JBJ LED 28g....

Yea but since money is not a problem you can get one of those new invisible force fields to keep the fish from jumping out of the tank :jester:
