Seems they got lucky. Not everyone elsewhere in the Pacific was as lucky. I'm hearing of some deaths & quite a bit of damage. Also hear it hit part of New Zealand harder than the Aloha State..
It could have been SO much WORSE, tho.. <PHEW>

I know, that's all I'm hearing/seeing too. I'm certainly glad Hawaii is fine, but would definitely like to know what happened elsewhere....

Apparently, the Chilean Navy neglected to sound the Tsunami warning until 30 minutes. Looks like several coastal towns got leveled. EXTREME damage. Shades of Banda Aceh in 2004
Anyone know where Juan Hernandez island is? That is the one that reported deaths..
