what I'm reading on my hanna ph/orp monnitor is 190 to 200 I think this is low so I checked my water change water 35ppt made with ro/di water 190s so I checked my well water which is drawn 600ft well 160s.When I orderred unit also orderred cal. fluid as back for my douts if getting true readings or not dead on the #s. What is best way raise level and is water realy bad:confused:

I do not believe that one should necessarily act to increase ORP. I'm not sure any creatures actually care (or even know) about ORP.

Increased aeration and reduced organics can sometimes increase ORP, as, obviously can things like ozone.

But if the tank looks OK, I wouldn’t do anything about a specific ORP reading.

Randy, from previous reading I know you are using ozone. Is it worth the effort ? Why do you do it and how ? Thanks a lot.

Think about orp reading as a relative number. If your tank is looking good, just be afraid if the reading will change up or down in the future. I also clean the probe every week.

I use ozone to reduce the yellowness of the water, and for the potential benefit that it may help degrade certain organic toxins in the water.

The second article below describes how I use it, except that I have expanded the carbon treatment part from 4" PVC to 3 nested Io buckets.
