I used to have bubbles too in the first 3-4 months. Then they disappeared.
I know is a pita.. and they cover the corals..
After your tank will mature they will stop, unless you have some plumbing problems, but I don't think so.
Are you running a skimmer?

nope no skimmer.... are there any negatives with adding the rubble? would it hurt to try?

Have been a few people having this problem (myself included). The primary cause is that the JBJ wavemaker that comes with the tank has a factory defect that leaves BOTH pumps on after a power outage. To reset, turn the dial all the way to the left then back to the right

There have also been a few people that have upgraded the stock pumps to MJ1200s. One guy replaced the pump in question, and things got better. I personally have just cleaned out the pumps with a good vinegar soak to break up CA build up on the impeller, etc...

The tank isn't designed to have both pumps on at the same time (thus why it ships with a wavemaker :)) I would use it, you can turn the interval way down if you want, but you'll prolly notice your water levels in the back having a hard time to level out. This becomes more of a problem when you use an ATO with a float switch that relies on the water level being constant

someone lied to me lol.... I was told I didnt need the wave maker...... I dont use an ato so I guess I can put it to the lowest setting....

The primary cause is that the JBJ wavemaker that comes with the tank has a factory defect that leaves BOTH pumps on after a power outage.

That's how yours behaves, and it sounds very annoying, but not all JBJ bundled wavemakers have that problem. The way your statement is phrased makes it sound like your experience is universal and that's not right.

I received my JBJ Nano Cube 28 LED in late February, complete with the JBJ wavemaker. I've unplugged it, waited minutes, plugged it back in, I've flipped the switch on my power center, I've moved the thing from outlet to outlet...it always resumes whatever the knob is set to. I've left it off for 5-10 minutes every day or two since getting my tank, and it always comes back up to the dial setting. The indicator lights flip back and forth, the pumps cycle back and forth, I can see the surface ripples from the nozzles cycle back and forth, and the time interval has always been what the dial says it should be. The only time it runs both pumps is if the dial is set to 0. I've even tried very quickly blipping the power. Maybe it does something weird in a brownout type situation but it resumes from normal power outages just fine.

Maybe they fixed the problem?

Actually, they did fix the problem and the new tanks are shipping with the new wavemaker. If you are still getting the bubbles, let me know there are several other things you can check/do

Good to know they fixed the issue. I was scratching my head because everyone around here states the "both on after a power failure" thing as a fact about JBJ wavemakers and here I am with a JBJ wavemaker that doesn't work that way. I was half wondering if it was going to start misbehaving or was an intermittent problem that could happen just when I least expected it.

Have you contemplated using sponges? They add a good biological filtration method and drastically reduce "bubble load."

Yep, JBJ was aware of the issue. The new version started shipping back when they released the 28g LED tank. Not sure where you can buy one after market though ... anyone have ideas on that?

Yes, the early 28g Nanos were shipped with the wavemaker that defaulted to both pumps on and ithey did apparantly fix the newer wavemakers they don't do that.

with the older wavemakers, it is a pain to kill the pumps to do a water change and then when you restart the system, both pumps kick on and pump the sump dry. So you have to reset the wavemaker before you can get the waterlevel.
