Is there any way to tell if glass is tempered or is it only marked with a sticker when new? Im thinking of a new project and want to get a 20 gal or so tank and drill the bottom. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here's how I determined if my glass was tempered. I purchased a circular polarizer filter (available at camera stores, $10-$15). I placed my laptop (turned on) inside my aquarium (empty, of course) facing the glass in question, with a blank, white screen showing through the glass (Microsoft Notebook provided the white screen). From the outside of the aquarium, I looked through the filter as I rotated it. When the filter reached the polarizing angle (not important to know the angle), if the glass was tempered, horizontal (or vertical - not important which) "bars" would be visible on the laptop screen image. To convince myself this worked and was reliable, I tested it first on my patio sliding glass door and other house glass, which I knew was tempered. End result - my aquarium glass wasn't tempered and I've drilled 7 holes in it.
