thank you to everyone again about the positive comments!
i replied to all the pm's. i will get the pics up this weekend. i should have posted this earlier but the equipment isn't for sale currently. i got a pm about my tank, and i wouldn't curse anyone by selling that pos to them. it has bad circular scratches from the previous owner that i couldnt buff out. and the way the overflows are it is IMPOSSIBLE to stop if from slurping and randomly flushing, which sounds like a toilet.
just thought id let everyone know :). also i would like to say that the rose and clown are pending, some lr is pending(not sure what pieces yet) and some bites have been made on some zoas.
i would like to note that my fish and coral are my pride and joy, and would like all of them to go to good, appropriate tanks. thanks for any interest!

Great Choice! I'm also stationed in Vandenberg AFB up north near Santa Barbara. The best choice to this date was joining the USAF 10 years ago. Never looked back since. Once you get through basic training and tech school you'll be back in the hobby. PM me if you have any questions about the AF.

15 years in the AF. I was a MTI (drill instructor for the other services) for 4 years, as for basic training, the best thing to do is to keep that sheriff stuff to yourself. Once it's known that it's all fun and games for you they will ride you til you brake. the whole thing is designed to brake you down and build you back up. And the AF basic training is slightly different than the others.... it's not so much breaking you down physically as it is mentally, ohh we play some serious mind games. So, the best thing to do is basically stroke their egos don't get an attitude and act like you can't take it, then they'll back off.
You chose security forces.... I worked with the SF for 6 years in the missile field, and they worked constantly they never had much time to themselves. But if you are only planning to do it for 4 years and use it as experience to get a foot in the door at the sheriffs dept then that maybe a good idea. You'll also have an opportunity to get a degree in criminal justice (and being SFS, you will be encouraged to do so) that will even better for chances.
Good luck!!!
SoCal Reefdude! Congrats!
20 yrs retired Security Forces, K9 here! Still working in Security Forces today as a civil service employee and absolutely enjoy working for a team that keeps on giving. Stay in touch and I'll be more than happy to help or answer any questions about your chosen profession! It can be demanding - but, if your heads on straight the rewards are endless.

Good luck with the sale and enlistment, I currently have 19 years active duty in the Navy. The best advise that I can give you is that its never as hard as some people make it out to be and that you can get everything that you want out of the military but you have to work for it.
Do you ever make down to the San Diego area.
Again good luck,
