question re:Octopus skimmer NWB-150

Have pretty much decided on this skimmer for my 72 gallon bowfront. Would like to know if it's easy to use and how quiet it is? I've read that others feel that the Vertex is quiet but it seems that it's high wattage. Ease and quiet are a priority. Thanks!

I have the same model on my 90g - it's very quiet, and all you hear is a very slight sucking sound coming from the hole in the top of the standpipe. I don't have experience with the Vertex.

I have one on a 90 as well. I can't hear it unless the stand is open and I'm sitting right there.
