Cowrie was the only thing safe in my tank with a Lunare. Crabs were a quick snack.

Our 5.5" Goldbar wrasse (close relative of the Lunare) would occasionally get a live crayfish as a treat. They were obliterated in seconds. I can only imagine what our 8.5" Lunare is capable of.

About the clean-up crew, you don't "need" a crew. A lot of this is ingrained in our heads from retailers looking to sell CUC. There are very many aggressive setups that have little to no CUC. It's about maintaining water quality, filtration, and staying on top of the tank.

I had a Lunare for about two years. He never went after crabs, just snails. But with all things in our tanks, no two fish are the same and i'm sure some will go after crabs as well.

I never saw mine eating crabs, it mainly picked off snails. They could easily take out crabs if they wanted to though. Man the colors on that fish...stupid porcupine puffer rescue.

The vid is a few months old, the pic is just taken. That's our holding tank while the 240 is finished.
