Hey
does anyone know of a chart or site that lists types of corals and the speices? I'm afraid I still get confused when I read about LPS's and SPS's and stonies and softies. It doesn't seem to be intuitive - someone referred to a physically soft coral and it looked stony to me, lol.
I would just like a quick reference type chart so that I can get my little new-to-reef head wrapped around being able to look at a coral and tell if it will grow in my tank or not.

thanks in advance!

I like liveaquaria.com because it separates the corals out by categories and you can see pics and descriptions of each type of coral in each category.

As far as how they're categories as LPS vs. Soft, I'm still trying to wrap my head around that too.. I'm buying corals and not trying to understand them anymore, other than what conditions they need to live and grow.

I use a recource guide by Ronald Shimek Marine Invertebrates. It's great it gives photo's size and feedind descriptions.

Eric Borneman's book Corals (http://www.amazon.com/Aquarium-Corals-Selection-Husbandry-Natural/dp/1890087475/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1267979733&sr=8-1) is a must have.
