I recently broke my wallet to purcahse a Red Carpet Anemone, which I hoped my Maroon Clownfish pair would use as a holiday home along with their other neon green and white carpet anemone. Well...it does not seem like they are interested in the new GIANT RED anemone, so my question is...should I get another set of clowns to house it? The other clowns would live on the same side as the Maroon clowns, but they would still be 30cm apart. Any suggestions?
Oh...the red carpet has already eaten 2 damsels, as they are missing!!!

Great anemone there! Sorry about the damsels...they probably deserved it though, haha just kidding.
I think adding another pair would be fine given the separate anenome. But then again it IS pretty close...

How big is that tank?
IMO, trying to mix another clown (( or pair )) with an existing maroon pair is pretty much a death sentence for the new pair.

Dude go for the platinum clowns! You can't go wrong...J/K that would be like flushing $$$ down the toilet. I don't think you can put a another pair of clowns in there with those maroons. Unless you take out the other anenomes so the only one in the tank is that red carpet. Which is respectable. That thing is a beauty!!!

Okay sounds silly, but worked for me years ago. Put picture of clowns hosting an anemone on tank facing inside tank, & left it for a few days. Lol. Low & behold the pair of true perculas started hosting in the anemone! Try it, may or may not work. Lol

You should listen to these two guys. Adding another pair would just be a slaughter.

IMHO i would remove the Maroon and get other clowns. Maroon will even attack you one day once they are established, let along other clownfishes. they are one of the most aggressive common clownfish and they grow VERY large.
if you insist on keeping the maroon, get him a BTA of any color variation, they will go into it VERY VERY quickly.
i stay away from Maroon and Tomato clowns, they are super nasty.

A few people commented how to get the clowns to host, read the whole thing. His pair is already hosting a separate carpet anemone, he doesn't want to know how to get them into an anemone all together, just if he can add another pair to host the second anemone.
To that, it's very very unlikely that they'll allow another pair in the tank. It'e even less likely that they'll allow another pair that close.
By the way, that carpet is BEAUTIFUL! Let me get this straight, you've got a green/white and a red? Very Christmassy don't you thin?

Oh maroons, maroons, maroons. I have a pair of these xxxx and hate them. After 2.5 years, I added a beautiful neon green carpet. The P. biaculetus pair wouldn't touch it. Against good advice, I added a tomato clown, easily 2x the size of the bigger maroon clown. In a 400 gal, the maroons beat the tomato until death.

have you ever got attacked by your maroon while your hand/arm is in the tank? that hurt man! i wonder how a fish feels when got attacked by the maroon. selling maroon should be outlaw ;)
I had a 4" purple tang that was killing off other tangs, butterflies etc. I sold it to a friend with a huge system. He put it in a large system with his notoriously brutal 7" marroon. Well the marroon is no more. That is a very rare exception to the rule. If you're going to tryanother pair, I would get them instead of (not in addition to) the marroons. I'd like to see a pair of darwin ocellaris clowns.

Score 1 for the PT! I loved my purple tangs. My tank is too small for one now :(

If your interested in selling it send me a PM.
Also don't add anymore clowns as your maroons will kill them.
