I'm curious to hear from people that have Kalk reactor. Has anyone had trouble with their powerhead failing? I'm considering building one, but with the EXTREMELY high pH, I wonder how resilient the powerhead could be. Any good/bad experiences would be great. Thanks

Bump. Anybody?
I have been using a Maxi-jet powerhead on mine.........they seem to last a very long time!! I think the first one lasted a few years or more before I had to replace it

I have two GEO kalk reactors. Both use MJ 600s for mixing. I have them set to mix for about 10 minutes, 4x a day. The only danger to the pumps is to the impellar, specifically the blades. They can become calcified or caked with kalk which will shorten their lifespan. That is why I mix frequently.

I've had a geo for about 2-3 years now, and I have replaced the impeller once

Same here and I just clean the MJ a few times a yr to remove deposits and no problems yet.

I love my GEO kalk reactor! Haven't had any problems with it, only replaced the maxijet impeller 3 times in the past 4 years I've had it. Keeps the pH consistently around 8.30 day/night.
