Which hose is best for my overflow drain onto the sump. I'm not wanting to run PVC pipe. Spa flex, vinyl, braided vinyl, or suggestions. Also if I can buy it local like at HD would be good too. Thanks in advance.

I would use flex PVC. Seen it at Lowes but I don't know the price.

I run clear vinyl hose for my return and drain lines to from the bottom of the tank. I like the smooth curves which eliminate pipe noise from water splashing. I don't have any algae issues as some will suggest but if that became an issue I would just wrap the hoses to block the light. Also when cleaning the sump I can easily bend and move the hoses out of the way.

I went to a pool supply store. Flex drain . No noise . It looks like the wet dry hoses u get in those pre made sumps . 8.00 depending on footage . I think the size I got was 1 1/4 inch . Reminds you of vaccum cleaner hose (well sorta )

Flex drain sounds like a winner. Do they sell that home depot?

Eheim tubing by far is the best I still have some that is 25 years old and still works great. It is soft so it easier to use.
