No more sticky bubbles from skimmer?

Working my way through my cycle and I am noticing in the last couple of days that my skimmer is no longer producing those nice sticky bubbles that push their way to the top of the tub and into the collection cup. Now the skimmer is just producing clean bubbles...nothing being pushed up into the collection cup. I had run this skimmer for about 8 months when I cooked my rock so I imagine it is "broken in" by now. But I put a large chunk of uncooked shrimp in my tank about a week ago to kick off the cycle, at which time I was getting some decent bubbles...now nothing. Just curious what might be going on?

if it's new or recently changed ... might not be anything much to skim. wait til you have livestock in (since you mentioned dropping in raw shrimp) obviously your going through the beginning stages of the cycle. all in due time. ;)
