Yesterday I came home to my Naso tang having the wound that you see on its tale. Its some sort of wound that is about an inch long. When I got home tonight my girlfriend shows me the issues that he is having around his face. She said they have been there all day. any ideas?

I forgot to add that he is not really moving. he is just hanging out in the corner of the tank

Do you have another tang in the tank? The gash by his tail looks like two tangs were dueling.. although thats just my first reaction. Also doesnt explain the issue near the face.

If the wounds are new, you can provide some relief by mixing up a bucket containing 5 gallons of SW, 1 drop of lugols and 1 tablespoon of Epsom Salts - let the fish stay in the bucket for a few hours. If they get infected though, you may want to give some thought to getting a QT up and cycled so you can administer an antibiotic or other necessary med.

thanks for the help, I do have another tang in the tank. But sadly, Naso was not alive this morning. I still wonder what the rash thing is on his face for future reference.

I have a 3" vllamingi tang that I am getting rid of hopefully soon. I do have a flower rock anemone that is about 1" in diameter. It showed up one day, and the mushroom forum said it was probably a flower anenome

your naso looks like it was in the 6-7 inch range? judging from the those spikes. I don't know how a 3 inch vlamingii tang did that to a larger tang.
