I have a 45 cube. (Build thread is under my username..)

Right now I have a PFO 250 watt MH pendant paired with a Current Powerbrite Actinic strip (LED's).

Most of my tank will be LPS, but I'd like a nice spot on the rocks to have SPS, and I do like clams..

I feel like the 250 is too much light for an 18 inch deep tank. Thanks for the advice. Not in a rush to make any changes, just throwing some ideas out there.

I had the nearly the same set up on my 16" deep 40 cube. It's not too much light. I would buy a Par Meter. I had mine 12" above the water. Yes it spilled out a lot of light but heat was minimal. I had 3 Powerbrites and it was amazing.

that's a great looking setup. I've seen that before actually. I have my light about 11 inches or so off the water (bulb about 13 inches). I'm not worried about light spillage because it's enclosed in a canopy.

What Kelvin bulb did you use?
