Is it too much? It will correspond to a 20x turn, would I get dead spots in a 36x12x16 tank?
If 6025 alone is not too much, how about adding another MJ400 to diversify flow?

1 would be fine, i have 3 6025s and 3 other types of phs in a 90

I think 2 ph's is better than 1. i run 2 6025's in my 40breeder. i'm thinking 2 may be a little much in your tank unless you have a heavier grain of sand. i think you'll be fine with 1 6025 and the maxi.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I will go with the combo, since I am planning to get oolite sand for the bed.
PS> I was also looking at those vortech mp40, they are really nice, but way over my budget ...

I run one 6025 in my 30 cube. That, along with the return from my HOB filter gives me plenty of flow.
