ok. dunno if you guys have read my other threads, probably not, but i've been going back and forth on an internal external skimmer.
i've got the reef octopus recirc that can go in or out.
my issue has become, that i got my skimmer in position, and i don't like it. it's too tall, and i'm not sure what i can do.
my sump/fuge is a 20G high. so to plumb it to dump back in over the edge of the sump, the skimmer has to sit like 24 inches off the ground.
i'm really trying to keep it a nice clean setup. not really have a bunch of stuff hanging off the tank or sitting next to it.
it's kind of back in a corner and so if something HAD to sit outside of it, it could be in the corner, but it needs to sit low. i would like to keep it out of the sump for the benefit of larger water volume in the sump and a bigger fuge.
my skimmer can just BARELY fit in my stand with my sump in there, and i have to assemble it after it is in there.
**takes a break to do some thinkin on this issue**
so, i think if i can get my stand braced so that i can take the sump out, so i can get the skimmer out, i have a decent plan for my sump layout with the skimmer back in the sump. but i have to be able to brace the stand.
it's a 24 in span. i'm thinking 1.5 x 1.5in steel tubing. welded.
i don't feel like having a removable center brace that i actually remove while the tank is full is a good idea, but it would make my life easy.
sorry this thread is kinda all over the place. kinda thinkin and typin and inventing on the fly.
