I have a 75 DT and a 20 long. I am sumpless. I put some chaeto in my 75 but my Hippo and yellow tangs were devouring it. I moved it to my 20 which just has a standard aquarium and plant florescent bulb, no fish. I put a shrimp pellet in there a couple times/week for plant food. The blue/green algae is doing great but the chaeto was receeding and turning white. Today I moved it into a fish breeder basket back in the 75 so it gets some good light. What requirment was it missing in the 20?
Thanks

Chaeto is not something easily kept in the display when you have herbivores. It has to be in the sump IMO to give you any type of lasting benefit. It's most likely turning white because it's being irritated and pulled apart by whatever's eating it.

I will be interested to see if the light from the Powermodule can raise it from the dead.
